The hills look stunning in snow, don't they?

The snow really bring out the detail in the hills.

Jane,I cant say I am over enthused by the plans for JWD, in fact I think its pretty bad news for the dock.

I reckon these plans are drawn up by property developers who are in league with certain people at the council to make a lot of money.

JWD is a working dock and they want to turn it into a shopping centre and marina which would be better placed at East India Harbour.

You have to ask your self do we really need any more shops, can the area sustain them, but of course we are told they will be specialist shops!like the ones that are empty at Loch Lomond shores [another travesty]or Ayr harbour empty since the luxurious flats were built its the same up and down the country, the only winner is the property developer.

You may already know but the council are planning to fill in the dry docks at custom house, despite interested parties coming up with ideas to make them more interesting, one suggestion was to bring a few boats up from Irvine Maritime disaster museum, but no one was interested, perhaps they will build flats on them, who cares about our heritage, not the council or Clydeport that's for certain.

I do agree with everything you say Gerry, I was just amazed at the scale of the plans. I'm very sorry to hear about the plans to fill in the docks at the Custom House too, it is such a waste. I'm surprised that not more effort is being made to preserve these wonderful historic areas. I don't understand why hardly anyone seems to care. It's not something that can be restored at a later date, once it's gone and ruined it's too late. Very depressing really.
