Maersk containerships on Loch Striven

Lyrwa at Rothesay, she tenders the lay up ships.
The Waverley has had a few visits up loch Striven to view the ships.

The Maersk container ships have become rather controversial ,making headline news in the local press, and a few articles in the Herald newspaper.
It would appear the locals of Loch Stiven are unhappy with the ships, claiming pollution, noise and that the ships are destroying their view.

Its uncertain how long the lay up ships will remain in the Loch, victims of the global recession.

You can read the views of the Loch Striven residents HERE
