Fort Rosalie

A mine hunter from Faslane pays a visit while out on exercise.

Fort Rosalie at anchor at the tail of the bank on a rather foggy day on the Clyde.
She was built in 1978 at Scott Lithgows on the Clyde and is due to be decommissioned in 2013.

She is a store vessel but is able to accommodate up to four Sea Kings or Lynx helicopters for the transfer of stores or anti submarine protection.

The Port Of Glasgow

An old magazine advert for The Port of Glasgow, not to be confused with Port Glasgow the town, there is no date on the advert ,but I would think taken in the early fifties?
To the left is the site of the Science centre ,part of this dock remains as Princess dock.
To the right we now have the SECC conference centre and the Glasgow auditorium, there is no trace of this dock any longer.
