Clydebank

Looking across the river from Erskine to Clydebank, the shipyards have gone, now a college stands on the place were men built the most famous ships in the world. Only the famous Clydebank Titan crane remains to remind the younger generation of their fathers proud feats of engineering.

We had planned to go up the Titan Crane on our last day but the weather was so stormy and wet, we called it off. Such a pity as I'd have liked to see the view from up there!

Hi Jane,
I haven't been up the Titan yet,but I would imagine the view to be most disappointing!
Clydebank's not that pretty and the country side on the opposite bank is not that great. I hope to visit it next year, although I have to say I think the lift they built beside the crane detracts from the overall look of the crane.

I didn't realise any of that, thanks for the info Gerry. I'm disappointed that the lift is separate to the crane - I imagined you'd go up inside it, where the operator went.
