HMS Cockatrice (J229)

 The ship was ordered on 15 November 1940 at the Fleming and Ferguson at Paisley, Scotland. She was laid down on 21 July 1941 and launched on 22 May 1944. The ship was commissioned on 16 October 1942.

On 6 June 1944, the ship supported the invasion force during D-Day by providing smoke screens and setting up fuel lines.[

In February 1948, she returned to the UK and decommissioned on arrival. She was sold for scrap in 1963.

DEPV Talisman

 DEPV Talisman was the world's first diesel-electric paddle vessel. Built in 1935, she was a passenger ferry on the Clyde, seeing wartime service as HMS Aristocrat. From 1953, she served for 14 years on the Millport station.

MV Belnahua

The Argyll & Bute Council-operated vehicle ferry crosses  from the Isle of Seil to the Isle of Luing  taking  just five minutes for a distance of 285 metres.

 King George V was built by William Denny and Brothers for the Turbine Steamers Ltd as a pioneering turbine powered vessel intended for longer routes. She passed to the ownership of David MacBrayne Ltd in October 1935, when plans to rename her were never enacted. Displaced by MV Columba, she was withdrawn from service in 1974. Several attempts were made to preserve her as a floating pub or restaurant, but all failed. King George V was burnt out at Cardiff docks in 1981 and scrapped in 1984.
