Fencer



Fencer sails from the Braehead shopping centre at Renfrew to the city centre Glasgow.

The gates removed and the slipway extended,this picture was taken a few hours before high tide.

At the side of the shed you can see the drag chains that will slow her decent and bring her to a halt on launch day.

Kames Castle

On the shore of Kames Bay near Port Bannatyne on the Island of Bute, the castle consists of a 14th Century tower, with a house built on it in the 18th Century.

Originally the seat of the Bannatyne family, Kames is one of the oldest continuously inhabited houses in Scotland.

"Tjalk" which is a flat bottom sailing boat with sideboards instead of a keel.
More of a coastal than deep sea vessel, this type of boat would have traded between Scotland and the Netherlands. Still authentic, with original cargo hatches,built 1912.
