HMS Dragon Launch


The launch of HMS Dragon from the Govan shipyard in Glasgow,a truly miserable day weather wise,but still the crowds turned out in their thousands to watch the spectacle.

Dragon is the fourth type 45 destroyer to be launched and the third from Govan.

HMS Dauntless



On a grey rainy day HMS Dauntless was led down the Clyde to start her sea trials,her first test was anchor trials,she then moved further down the Firth accompanied by two tugs.

HMS Dauntless and Daring

Daring and Dauntless photographed on the 12 November at the Scotstoun shipyard,Daring is on the inside having passed her sea trials.Dauntless D33 is due to leave the Clyde on the 14th November to start her sea trials.




The crew were working through the night with the ship tannoy announcing fire drills,a steady stream of stores were being brought on the ship.
