Largs Bay
Largs Bay visited Largs for the Viking festival 2008
Built by Swan Hunter on the River Tyne, RFA Largs Bay (L3006), is one of four Bay Class Landing Ship Dock (Auxiliary) or LSD(A), which are the replacement ships for the Sir Galahad Class LSL’s. At over 16,000 tonnes full load, the Bay Class are much larger, more capable, more flexible and have over twice the capacity of the ships they are replacing.
Westland Lynx helocopter is XZ733, 215 Flight out of 815 Squadron, Yeovil.

Flying Phantom
The Flying Phantom was built by Ferguson Shipbuilders Port Glasgow 1981.
She is seen here returning to James Watt Dock.
The Flying Phantom sank on the evening of 19 December 2007 with the loss of three lives.
The tug was escorting the 39738 grt bulk carrier RED JASMINE to Shieldhall with a cargo of animal feed and got into difficulty near Rothesay Dock Clydebank as the vessels made their way up river to Shieldhall.

St Mungo on the Clyde
St Mungo is a popular sight on the upper reaches of the Clyde,she is seen most days going about her business of keeping the river clean of flotsam and jetsam and to assist in riverbank clean up.
The Water Witch Engineering Company designed and built St Mungo.
