Fri Liepaja at Ayr harbour.
She is seen here arriving at KGV dock Glasgow.
The most innovative aspect is her pair of vertical structures at the bow: these are Econowind rigid windfoils – a new generation of adjustable sails that rotate with the wind and generate aerodynamic lift similar to that of an aircraft wing. According to the manufacturer, the thrust generated is equivalent to around 80 square metres of conventional sail, helping reduce emissions and improve energy efficiency.
