Le Lyrial


 Le Lyrial is a 264-passenger, French-flagged luxury expedition yacht built in 2015 and operated by the premium cruise line Ponant. Measuring 142 meters long, she features a ice-strengthened hull.

Because of her small size and ice-strengthened design, Le Lyrial sails a mix of warm and extreme polar regions,she is seen here departing from Greenock on the River Clyde.

Thalassa was built and rigged in 1980 in a traditional manner as a barquentine. Rigged according to old tradition but equipped according to the latest safety standards.

In summer, Thalassa sails across Europe with various groups. In winter, the ship crosses the Atlantic with the School at Sea talent development programme.
