A really beautiful photo. I've never been into Ardrossan myself.

Jane most folk who visit Ardrossan are heading for the ferry terminal to make their way to Arran.

A few years back Ardrossan was voted Scotland ugliest town, which was a shame, like most seaside towns when the fishing or industry departs, hard times follow. Pleased to say that Ardrossan is on the up with the harbour being turned into a beautiful marina, and smart new flats being built.

Of course the thing that people forget is that the view out to sea has never changed and the views of Arran and the quiet beach make it a winner for me.

Thanks Gerry. Yes, it's true what you say of course. We hope to go to Arran for the first time in October, so will also go to Ardrossan then, at least the ferry terminal, though I'd like to see the harbour and the town as well while we're down there. We'll make some time for a drive around and a walk before going back to Largs.
